Messages

This module provides a mechanism to prepare, store and deliver messages to pupils.  It replaces traditional methods used to contact individual pupils with a modern system, where messages are completed online, stored and shared with other authorised users for onward transmission to pupils.

• Rapid message deployment providing the maximum opportunity to reach the recipient while eliminating time locating the pupil.
• Eliminate searching timetables, locating teacher, frustrating especially when classes have moved from their assigned location
• Eliminate bulk emails to multiple staff
• View previously entered and stored messages, ie for each pupil, view messages previously issued
• Send messages to groups of pupils, eg all members of the orchestra (requires OTB lists)
• Eliminate tracking pupils; be confident your messages will reach the pupil.  OnTheButton automatically advises teachers of the intended message recipient
• Eliminate time consuming telephone calls to multiple teachers
• Reduce message preparation time, convenient easy to access messages with straightforward features
• School configurable; determine who can enter/view messages, how long to retain messages

Once the message has been entered it is visible to teachers of the intended recipient and appears in their class lists, register class lists etc

Pending messages show as an animated, rotating icon, easily recognised by staff when using OnTheButton for administration.  There is no need to locate the pupil or the teacher(s) concerned.

The same OnTheButton screen allows schools to define up to 10 “quick messages”. These are generic messages prepared in advance, which can be used over and over again, eg the screen below shows 4 quick messages, and space for a 5th message to be entered.  These “quick messages” are saved for future use.
