Publish news to the whole staff (ie general news) or targeted news, to specific groups, eg department news and faculty news.
The school determines which groups of users have permission to General news. A news item will consist of a heading, which allows the user to expand this to show the full details.
A number of parameters can be defined:
- including show valid-from or creation date
- allow WYSIWYG items
- blink new news items
A news item can have both a start and stop date. This allows items to be prepared in advance; they will only become visible, when the start date is reached. Similarly, items will become invisible, after the stop date.
The OTB spellchecker and WYSIWYG components are integrated into news if they are enabled on your system.
